In the week or two before flying out, we borrowed a half-dozen traveling-to-Ireland books from the library. Nothing wrong with any of them, really, but this one stood out for being clear, concise, and specific. The clincher was his companion website, where we found clarifications on confusing issues like insurance (collision, theft, and supercover) for the rental car. Spoiler alert #1: You'll need all three to sleep at night. Spoiler alert #2: Credit card companies will often cover this, if you pay for the rental with that card. That is (Spoiler alert #3), unless you're traveling in Ireland, which, it turns out, is one of only three or four countries in the entire world excluded from this money-saving benefit. Erin go Wha??? Sheesh.
