The Sandy Seisiuns
Thanks to the Narrowbacks for inviting me to participate at a fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Sandy, at Ulysses Folk House in New York on November 17. Katie Linnane (fiddler for the Broken Banjo Strings band) and percussionist Randy Decker served as my booster rockets, and I'm pleased to report that, as of the last time I asked, the night raised about $1,600. But bigger things were yet to come... To all who performed, all who attended, all who contributed to the triumphant Sandy Seisiun in New York on December 1: Nicely done. Special kudos to the lads in Jameson's Revenge for being the driving force behind the project, which so far has raised over $25,000 to aid victims of the storm. If you missed it, fear not: Part Two is scheduled for December 21. The Stocking Stuffer
Fun Fact: I know, I know, it *looks* like any old CD, but I paid my packaging consultants a lot of money to tweak the height, width, and depth of the case for Chance of a Start to fit precisely into a Christmas stocking. Don't let all that high-level engineering go to waste. Click here to order or here to see a four-minute video sampler to help you decide. (PS: Free Xmas giftwrapping + U.S. shipping through December 20!) The Social Solution
What a bummer, to do all this work staying in touch with you, only to find out that my emails have ended up in your Junk folder (hey, are you even reading this???), and Facebook has withheld my posts from you, and I've been using the wrong Twitter hashtags. Sheesh. What to do, what to do? ... I know! Follow me everywhere, and chances are we'll find each other somewhere. |

Recommendations
- Together For Christmas: A Contemporary Celtic Christmas Collection: Is your old cassette of Bing crooning 'Christmas in Killarney' wearing a bit thin, in more ways than one? Time for a yuletide reboot, Irish style. New songs, old songs, new artists, established artists; it all adds up to a new Christmas tradition in the making.
- Irish Christmas in America: It's a CD! No, it's a roadshow! Hey, you're both right! It's a 'family-friendly performance featuring Irish and Scottish ballads, lively instrumental tunes and thrilling Irish dancing. Featuring an all-star cast.' As featured on Celtic Sunday Brunch.
